Karim Hemani
Senior Vice President, Capital Markets
Karim Hemani has over 15 years of experience in finance, accounting, and corporate development. He began his career in investment banking, primarily at Citigroup in Chicago and Houston. He then joined Memorial Resource Development (MRD) and Memorial Production Partners LP (MEMP), where he led M&A and capital markets initiatives, including MRD’s IPO and subsequent sale to Range Resources. Karim later joined Tellurian, overseeing FP&A and corporate development focused on the E&P division.
Karim was most recently with Sunnova Energy International as Senior Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development, where he led capital markets and strategic growth initiatives. He managed a wide range of corporate and asset-level financing activities, including warehouse/construction financing, asset-backed securitizations (ABS), and tax equity funds. He spearheaded the first-ever issuance of a residential solar high-yield bond and played a leading role in Sunnova’s acquisition of SunStreet. He was influential in securing long-term financing for Sunnova’s growing portfolio of solar assets and was integral to the company’s successful capital raising strategies.
Over his career, Karim has worked on over 45 financing transactions, raising more than $10 billion of capital, and executed over 30 M&A deals totaling over $8 billion in value.
He holds a BBA in Finance with High Honors from the Business Honors Program and an MBA in General Management, both from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
