In May 2024, PosiGen concluded its year-long 'Solar For All' campaign in collaboration with the City of New Haven, yet the significant efforts within the community continue.
The aim of the 'Solar for All' campaign is to make clean energy more accessible and affordable for homeowners in New Haven by coordinating community outreach and engagement activities in partnership with the city. These collaborative efforts led to 363 families showing interest in solar energy, with 138 households signing contracts for solar installations. With many of these solar systems now in place, generating clean electricity and saving families money, the PosiGen team organized a 'Solar For All' celebration in a neighborhood where families are benefiting from their solar systems.
On September 30, 2024, the PosiGen team, joined by representatives from the City of New Haven and CT Green Bank, as well as both new and long-time PosiGen solar customers, organized a festive block party. We exchanged stories about the campaign's achievements and highlighted the significance of PosiGen’s mission to make solar energy accessible to all through our innovative solar leasing and energy efficiency solutions. Most importantly, we listened to accounts of the savings experienced by local PosiGen customers and the positive impact these have had on their lives.

*First-Year Annual Savings is the difference between customer’s pre-solar annual energy bill and the sum of their year-1 post-solar annual energy bill and lease payments. Future savings estimates assume an electricity rate increase of [X%]. Cumulative Net Savings is the sum of the customer’s annual savings. Savings vary depending on your energy consumption, home location and characteristics, and your utility’s policies.
Our Solar For All Solar Celebration was a great success! Throughout the evening, roughly 50 neighbors gathered to hear stories of the savings and impact these rooftop solar installations achieved. Steven Winter, Executive Director of Climate & Sustainability from New Haven Mayor Elicker’s office, was a special guest and shared appreciation for the partnership and PosiGen’s ability to save residents money. Bryan Garcia, President & CEO of Connecticut Green Bank, was another special guest to share his support for PosiGen and the innovative lease program that allows homeowners to go solar with no upfront cost, no income verification, and no credit checks. The Big Green Truck was on site to serve hot pizza and gelato to all the neighbors in attendance!
PosiGen’s mission is to save people money and transform communities with solar energy and energy efficiency. While often viewed as a series of small actions, the PosiGen team believes that these community campaigns and neighborhood events bring people together and support positive change and transformation in our communities.
